Our Vision and Ethos

Our small, inclusive and caring school provides an embedded family ethos. We strive to enthuse and inspire our pupils, challenging and supporting their growth into respectful; confident; independent; self-motivated and curious individuals. We care, learn, discover and grow together, developing compassion, consideration, tolerance, understanding and knowledge for life in all its fullness.

Values: Love, Respect, Trust, Friendship, Forgiveness, Hope and Peace

I am delighted to welcome you to Kirkby-on-Bain Church of England Primary School, a small school, set in a beautiful rural village, with a Christian ethos.

We have 124 happy children on roll in six classes: Maple, Chestnut One, Chestnut Two, Willow, Ash and Oak Six.  We strive to ensure that all members of our learning community are given rich, inspiring and worthwhile experiences to reach their full potential; to ensure that they are happy, safe, secure and surrounded by mutual respect; to celebrate successes and provide support where success is a little harder to achieve; to learn from valuable mistakes rather than seeing them as failures and to ensure that each and every member of our community is emotionally, spiritually, academically and morally prepared and ready for the next stage in their education. The Christian values of hope, peace, trust, friendship, forgiveness and respect underpin the ethos within our school.

Striving to be an asset to our educational and geographical community and as an outward-facing school, we collaborate whenever we can. We embrace opportunities to work with others, supporting mutual further development and securing excellent achievements for all children. We continually strive to provide innovative experiences, inside and outside the classroom, that make learning fun.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to provide your child with the very best primary school education.
