Curriculum

Our curriculum encompasses all that we do in school. It is the life of our school and is multi-faceted: the heartbeat of the school. We seek to teach for the acquisition of knowledge, development of skills and broad understanding but also to prepare our children for life…life in all it’s fullness.
Our taught curriculum is built around our golden threads: key whole school foci that are intertwined with our learning across each long term. They are crucial in helping our children to know more and remember more but also to make sense of that learning. The golden threads provide links for our children and wider context for them to consider beyond the bare facts. We strive to ensure our children are as equipped as possible for the next stage in their lives, educationally and pastorally, as they move through our school, but also as they move on from us and transition into secondary settings. Our curriculum is designed to help our children to be the best people they can be, armed with tools, knowledge and skills that will serve them well, wherever they are.

Success for us

Our Golden Threads

Autumn: Belonging

Know Yourself, Love Yourself, Love Your Neighbour

‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ (Mark 12:31)

Spring: Global Awareness

One world, our world, a world for all

‘The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it.’ (Psalm 24:1)

Summer: Everyone can make a difference

Be the Change

‘And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need.’ (Hebrews 13:16)

‘You must be the change you wish to see in the world.’ Inspired by the words of Mahatma Gandhi

We ensure children are inspired to learn, acquire new knowledge and skills, have opportunities to further deepen that learning, demonstrating it in their own way and to share and/or showcase that learning with others.
